2/25/19 Job coach/mentor is the first level of being hired at Questwell some of our staff also aspire to become an Employment Liaison (EL). Questwell's definition of an Employment Liaison: EL holds high value on facilitating a GOOD job match for both the employer and for the employee. Employer and Employee need to be happy with the work done for the job to be a true GOOD JOB MATCH and both want this employment to last for years.
5/29/18 CHANGE Albert Einstein is broadly credited with exclaiming “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. It truly doesn't make a difference that there's truly no proof that Einstein really put forth this expression. I bring this up because I hear over and over while trying to help people get a job..."I have never done that to get a job, and I often say"that may be why you do not have a job; If you are not progressing and obtaining employment changing your approach is worth a try because what you are doing has not been working". Also, employers tell me quite often they seem to always be hiring, they too need to consider changing their approach to how they obtain and screen prospective employees. The Questwell CSR Plan is a win, win. You truly get to try before you buy, or in this case hire. Continue to think about the above statements as you read the following quotes:

5/22/18 "A nation is only as great as it treats the least of its' citizens." Many people have said statements like this Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Eleanor Roosevelt and many more wise people believe this to be a true statement. Every company needs to have as part of their CSR plan a way to address helping people who have a disability be employed. It increases the quality of people we have in our country both disabled and the none disabled. As a country, we are not doing well in this area per the US Department of Labor statistics https://www.bls.gov/news.release/disabl.nr0.htm . Walgreens is a company that is making a difference look at both of these links to see how. 5/18/2018 USE YOUR POWER Everyone needs to understand your personal buying power. You say, "but I am only one person, how can I influence any real change with my purchases?" You are in networks with other people this makes you stronger, networks like your church, your gym, your work, your club and other groups you affiliate with like other people who also have a disability etc. When a company is showing good, Corporate Social Responsibility CSR like giving a person who has a disability a job, tell your network to respond. Respond by, do things like filling out their, "how did we do surveys". Lots of places are bugging you to respond. It seems like every time I go to the grocery store the person at the register is telling me to call the number on the receipt to tell how they did and "this will enter in for bonus points or a drawing etc.". So RESPOND tell them, tell them you want as part of their CSR plan to put into policy ways to not make it easier to hire a person who has a disability. Sure they all say we are an "equal opportunity" employer but many now have confusing personality questionnaires, (especially hard for a person who has dyslexia or uses another language like ASL!) and some companies do not allow a job coach to help people who need a little more instruction while they are learning the job. So be sure to give Kudos to those companies doing well and reprimand those who are putting up barriers and tell them to be more caring about helping those who need the job the most to have a chance to be hired and if they do not you will shop elsewhere and ask your network to also.
6/26/19 My Take on "Emotional Intelligence"...Everyone has good stuff and bad stuff; what you choose to do is a reflection of how emotionally intelligent you are. Pick up the power of being positive and be more than the product of your circumstances.
